PUBLIC NOTICE
The City Council of Stanhope, Iowa hereby gives notice of its intent to fill a vacancy in the position of Councilmember of Stanhope, Iowa by appointment at its regular meeting to be held on April 2, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. at Stanhope Community Center, 600 Main St, Stanhope, Iowa. The vacancy was created by the recent resignation of councilmember Terry Painton. The appointment shall be for the period until the next pending election.
Interested residents may send in a letter of interest to City of Stanhope PO Box 128 Stanhope IA 50246 or drop it off at City Office 600 Main St Stanhope, Iowa, to be considered for appointment to the vacancy. Letters of interest need to be filed with the City Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. Pursuant to Iowa Code Section 372.13 (2A), electors of the city have the right to file a petition requiring that the vacancy be filled by a special election.
All applications are considered for appointment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital or veteran status, the presence of a non-job related medical condition or any other legally protected status.
